We enter the playoffs this Saturday, October 22, 2011. As in past years, the playoffs will be a double elimination contest; that is, a team is eliminated from competition when it loses 2 games during the playoff period. Wins and losses during the regular season, which ended last Saturday (October 15), do not count during the playoffs. Regular season records were used in determining the playoff seeding and playoff game pairings. No teams will be eliminated this weekend; all 10 teams will play next Saturday (October 29)! The regular season ended as follows:
Novice
1) Blue 2) Red 3) Black 4) White
Bantam
1) Purple 2) Burgundy 3) Black 4) Silver 5) Red 6) Blue
Pairings for week 1 of the Playoffs are as follows:
Novice
#4 White at #1 Blue (9:00 AM)
#3 Black at #2 Red (10:00 AM)
Bantam
#6 Blue at #1 Purple (12:00 Noon)
#5 Red at #2 Burgundy (11:00 AM)
#4 Silver at #3 Black (1:00 PM)
Next Saturday (October 29) will be round of 2 of the playoffs, winning teams from this week will play each other and teams that lose this week will be paired against each other. Therefore, after next weekend, 2 to 3 teams will be eliminated from the competition. The other teams, teams with 1 or less lose, will advance to week 3 of the playoffs (November 5).
Good luck to all!
